Arid Terrarium Plants

Succulents and low-water plants for dry enclosures — leopard geckos, bearded dragons, desert setups and open glass terrariums. These want bright light, gritty soil and far less water than a tropical tank.

Haworthia, Gasteria and Echeveria are the workhorses here: tough, slow-growing, and non-toxic. Aloe, jade and the trailing Senecios are in this group too, but they are not a good choice where an animal will graze on them.
