Description

Modern thornless erect varieties like 'Ouachita', 'Natchez', and 'Navaho' were bred for Southern heat and humidity and need no trellis, just an annual pruning. Canes are biennial: primocanes grow one year, fruit as floricanes the next, then get cut to the ground. Give them room for air movement and they shrug off the disease pressure that flattens raspberries here. Shipped in a 6" Starter Pot, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Care Instructions
  • Light: Full sun
  • Water: 1-2 in per week, steady during fruiting
  • Soil: Well-drained loam with plenty of compost and a slightly acidic pH around 6.0-6.5.
  • Feeding: Apply a balanced fertilizer at bud break and again right after harvest to fuel next year's canes.

Why we only ship Mondays and Tuesdays

A plant in a dark box is on a clock. Shipping early in the week means it reaches you before the weekend instead of sitting in a warehouse from Friday to Monday. It costs us a day or two of lead time and saves a lot of plants.

Practically: an order placed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend goes out the following Monday. We'd rather tell you that now than let you find it in a tracking number.

How long it takes once it leaves
