Description

French tarragon is the one worth having; Russian tarragon grows easily and tastes like nothing, which is why so many people think tarragon is bland. It is a genuinely difficult crop in the Deep South, so availability here is limited to the cooler stretches of spring and fall. Use it with restraint, because it will take over a dish faster than most herbs. Cut fresh and sold through local Alabama delivery, farm pickup, and our farmers-market stand.

  • Soil: Grown in lean, sharply drained soil, which is the only way tarragon survives our humid summers.
  • Feeding: Fed very lightly; rich, wet ground kills it faster than neglect.

Local delivery and farm pickup within Alabama. We don't ship produce, microgreens, cut herbs or edible flowers out of state — they're picked at peak and wouldn't survive the trip.

When

Cut to order. We'll reach out to set a delivery or pickup time, usually within a day or two of your order.

Refrigerate on arrival. Fresh items are best within a few days.

Why we only ship Mondays and Tuesdays

A plant in a dark box is on a clock. Shipping early in the week means it reaches you before the weekend instead of sitting in a warehouse from Friday to Monday. It costs us a day or two of lead time and saves a lot of plants.

Practically: an order placed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend goes out the following Monday. We'd rather tell you that now than let you find it in a tracking number.

How long it takes once it leaves
