Hardy Kiwi Plant

YOU NEED BOTH A MALE AND A FEMALE PLANT. Hardy kiwi is dioecious, and a lone female will flower beautifully and never set a single fruit, which is far and away the number one reason buyers report no crop. Plan on one male for every six to eight females planted within about fifty feet, give the vines a genuinely strong trellis or arbor because a mature plant is heavy and vigorous, and expect three to five years before the first real harvest. Shipped in a 6" Starter Pot, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

• Grows best: Outdoors - USDA 4-8
• Pet safety: The fruit is not known to be toxic to dogs or cats. Actinidia species contain compounds related to those in silver vine, so some cats show a catnip-like interest in the stems and may chew on young vines.
