Satsumas are the one citrus that genuinely fruits outdoors in central Alabama - seedless, zipper-skinned mandarins ripening right before Thanksgiving.
A mature satsuma on trifoliate rootstock is the hardiest edible citrus available to us, taking brief dips to roughly 18-20F once established, but it still needs protection here: wrap the trunk, mulch deeply, and cover the canopy with frost cloth or a frame-and-blanket whenever temperatures head below about 20F. Young trees are far more tender than mature ones and should be protected below freezing for their first two or three winters. Many Alabama growers keep them in large containers and roll them into a garage during hard freezes, which is the safest approach in Clay County. Shipped in a 6" Starter Pot, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Shipping Policy
Everything at Wade Greens is grown and packed by hand at our farm and nursery in Lineville, Alabama. How an order travels depends on what's in it.
Where we ship
Plants, trees, bulbs, and merchandise ship anywhere in the lower 48 United States — houseplants, succulents, garden plants, saplings, flower bulbs, and apparel. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, or international addresses.
Fresh produce, microgreens, and cut flowers are available for local delivery and pickup in Alabama only. Because these items are perishable and picked at peak freshness, we do not ship them outside Alabama. You'll find our fresh items at local farmers markets and through local delivery and farm pickup.
Processing & handling
Orders are prepared fresh, so please allow 1–3 business days for us to pack and dispatch. Live plants and perishable items ship early in the week whenever possible to avoid sitting in transit over a weekend. You'll receive tracking by email as soon as your order is on its way.
Live plants & perishable items
Our plants are living things and are packed with care to travel safely. Minor leaf drop or a little travel stress is normal and typically resolves within a week or two of settling in. If a plant arrives damaged, email us within 48 hours of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right. Fresh produce, microgreens, and cut flowers are best enjoyed soon after delivery or pickup — please refrigerate on arrival.
Local delivery & pickup
Local Alabama customers can choose delivery or farm pickup at checkout on eligible items. We'll reach out to coordinate a time. Pickup is at our Lineville, Alabama farm.
