Description

Cucumbers grow fast in Alabama heat but need constant moisture; a dry stretch produces bitter, misshapen fruit almost immediately. Trellis the vines to keep fruit clean, improve airflow against our humid downy and powdery mildew pressure, and make picking easy. Plants fade by late July, so set a second planting in early July for a fresh fall harvest before the November frost. Shipped in a 4" Pot, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Care Instructions

  • Water: 1.5-2 in per week, consistent
  • Soil: Warm, rich, well-drained soil high in compost with a pH of 6.0-6.8.
  • Feeding: Feed at planting and every two to three weeks once vines run, easing off nitrogen as fruit sets.

Why we only ship Mondays and Tuesdays

A plant in a dark box is on a clock. Shipping early in the week means it reaches you before the weekend instead of sitting in a warehouse from Friday to Monday. It costs us a day or two of lead time and saves a lot of plants.

Practically: an order placed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend goes out the following Monday. We'd rather tell you that now than let you find it in a tracking number.
