Description

Napa cabbage is far touchier about timing than regular cabbage: a spring planting set out too late runs straight to flower when May heat arrives, so fall is the more reliable season in central Alabama. Plant into moist, well-fed soil and never let it dry out, because uneven water gives you loose heads and bitter, tough ribs. Keep an eye out for cabbage loopers and harlequin bugs in warm spells, and pull heads before a hard freeze below the mid-20s. Shipped in a 4" Pot, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Why we only ship Mondays and Tuesdays

A plant in a dark box is on a clock. Shipping early in the week means it reaches you before the weekend instead of sitting in a warehouse from Friday to Monday. It costs us a day or two of lead time and saves a lot of plants.

Practically: an order placed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend goes out the following Monday. We'd rather tell you that now than let you find it in a tracking number.
