Description

Be realistic about raspberries in central Alabama: they evolved for cool summers, and our July heat and humidity bring root rot, spider mites, and reduced fruit set, so most plantings are short-lived here. Your best shot is a heat-tolerant fall-bearing type such as 'Heritage', 'Caroline', or 'Dorman Red', grown with afternoon shade and heavy mulch to keep roots cool. If you want a dependable cane fruit for this climate, plant blackberries instead and treat raspberries as an experiment. Shipped in a 6" Starter Pot, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Why we only ship Mondays and Tuesdays

A plant in a dark box is on a clock. Shipping early in the week means it reaches you before the weekend instead of sitting in a warehouse from Friday to Monday. It costs us a day or two of lead time and saves a lot of plants.

Practically: an order placed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend goes out the following Monday. We'd rather tell you that now than let you find it in a tracking number.

How long it takes once it leaves
