Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them to make the store work and to understand how it is being used. This page explains which ones and why; our Privacy Policy covers everything else we collect.

What we use them for

• Making the store work. Keeping items in your cart between pages, keeping you signed in, remembering your delivery preferences, and carrying you through checkout. The store cannot function without these.
• Understanding how the site is used. Which pages and plants get looked at, how people arrive, what breaks. This is reported to us in aggregate — we use it to decide what to grow and what to fix.
• Email and reviews. Recognising you when you follow a link from one of our emails, and letting you leave a product review.

Who sets them

Some are set by us. Most are set by the services that run the store on our behalf — Shopify, which hosts the store and processes payments, our email and reviews providers, and our analytics provider. They act on our instructions and only for the purposes above.

How long they last

Some disappear when you close your browser. Others last from thirty minutes to two years, depending on what they do. Shopify publishes the full list with durations at shopify.com/legal/cookies.

Turning them off

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones will stop the cart and checkout from working. Because there is no agreed standard for handling them, we do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

What we do not do

We do not sell the information cookies collect, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as that term is defined under California law.
