Description

Strobilanthes dyerianus, Persian Shield, is grown entirely for its leaves - lance-shaped, silver-purple, and lit from within by a genuine metallic shimmer that changes as you move around it. Indoors it wants bright indirect light and humidity, and pinching the tips keeps it bushy instead of leggy. Outdoors in Alabama it makes a striking summer foliage plant in a shaded bed or container, then comes back inside before frost. Few plants sell themselves this hard on a photograph. Offered in 4-Inch Pot, shipped well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Why we only ship Mondays and Tuesdays

A plant in a dark box is on a clock. Shipping early in the week means it reaches you before the weekend instead of sitting in a warehouse from Friday to Monday. It costs us a day or two of lead time and saves a lot of plants.

Practically: an order placed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend goes out the following Monday. We'd rather tell you that now than let you find it in a tracking number.
