Description

Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' is the golden spiller you see cascading over the edge of every good mixed planter, and it works just as hard as a groundcover in a damp, part-shaded spot. Round coin-shaped leaves in bright chartreuse hold colour through the season and the plant roots at every node, so it knits together fast. It likes more moisture than most groundcovers. Offered in 4-Inch Pot, shipped well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Why we only ship Mondays and Tuesdays

A plant in a dark box is on a clock. Shipping early in the week means it reaches you before the weekend instead of sitting in a warehouse from Friday to Monday. It costs us a day or two of lead time and saves a lot of plants.

Practically: an order placed Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend goes out the following Monday. We'd rather tell you that now than let you find it in a tracking number.

How long it takes once it leaves

Typical ground transit from Lineville, Alabama after the ship day. Estimates, not guarantees — weather and carrier backlogs happen.

Traits

  • GroundcoverSpreads sideways by runner, rhizome or low branching to close bare soil. A closed canopy shades out weed seed and holds a slope in place.
  • Good for ContainersCompact, fibrous roots that tolerate a confined pot. Container soil dries several times faster than a bed, so check it more often than you think you need to.
  • Fast GrowingFills its space in a season or two. Fast growth is soft growth, so expect a shorter life and more give in a storm.
  • Low MaintenanceNo routine pruning, staking, deadheading or feeding to stay presentable. Not the same as no water in the first season.
