Description

Celery is honestly one of the harder crops in Alabama because it wants a long, cool, wet season and turns stringy and bitter under heat or drought stress. Plant it in the richest, most moisture-retentive bed you have, give afternoon shade, mulch deeply, and never let the soil dry out for even a day. Expect slimmer stalks than grocery celery, and treat a fall planting as the more reliable of the two windows. Shipped in a 4" Pot, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

Care Instructions

  • Water: Constant moisture, never dry
  • Soil: Very rich, consistently moist, compost-heavy soil with a pH of 6.0-7.0.
  • Feeding: Feed every two weeks with a nitrogen-rich liquid fertilizer; celery cannot be underfed and still stay tender.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping Policy Everything at Wade Greens is grown and packed by hand at our farm and nursery in Lineville, Alabama. How an order travels depends on what's in it.

Where we ship Plants, trees, bulbs, and merchandise ship anywhere in the lower 48 United States — houseplants, succulents, garden plants, saplings, flower bulbs, and apparel. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, or international addresses.
Fresh produce, microgreens, and cut flowers are available for local delivery and pickup in Alabama only. Because these items are perishable and picked at peak freshness, we do not ship them outside Alabama. You'll find our fresh items at local farmers markets and through local delivery and farm pickup.

Processing & handling
Orders are prepared fresh, so please allow 1–3 business days for us to pack and dispatch. Live plants and perishable items ship early in the week whenever possible to avoid sitting in transit over a weekend. You'll receive tracking by email as soon as your order is on its way.

Live plants & perishable items
Our plants are living things and are packed with care to travel safely. Minor leaf drop or a little travel stress is normal and typically resolves within a week or two of settling in. If a plant arrives damaged, email us within 48 hours of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right. Fresh produce, microgreens, and cut flowers are best enjoyed soon after delivery or pickup — please refrigerate on arrival.

Local delivery & pickup
Local Alabama customers can choose delivery or farm pickup at checkout on eligible items. We'll reach out to coordinate a time. Pickup is at our Lineville, Alabama farm.
