Red Seed Potatoes

Size: 2 lb Seed Potatoes

This is sold as certified seed potatoes, not as a rooted seedling: cut larger pieces so each has one or two eyes, let the cut faces dry and callus for a day or two, then plant them four inches deep with the eyes facing up. Central Alabama gardeners traditionally plant around Valentine's Day, and the tops will take a light frost, though a late freeze in the 20s calls for a row cover. Hill soil up around the stems twice as they grow, because any tuber that sees sunlight turns green and inedible. Shipped in a 2 lb Seed Potatoes, well-rooted from our Lineville, Alabama nursery.

  • Mature size: 18-30 in tall, 18-24 in wide
